EXAMINING THE IMPLICATIONS OF AI-GENERATED CONTENTS ON COPYRIGGHT INFRINGEMENT IN NIGERIA ~ METI MONDAY UKPEH, ESQ. Past Chairman, NBA-YLF, Uyo Branch  Member, National NBA-YLF Pro Bono Committee  Preceptor, Legal Digest. Abstract  Technological advancements and access to computing power has made it possible for machines to artificially perceive, think, understand, learn, produce and interact without explicit human programming. This new reality known as artificial intelligence was introduced by the English mathematician Alan Turing in 1950 and later coined by an American computer scientist John McCarthy during the Dartmouth Conference in 1956. This new reality has brought with it various legal and philosophical complexities bordering on copyright ownership. These challenges stem from the fact that extant laws and legal systems on copyright were built on the presumption that there is some form of human intervention. It becomes imperative to solve the problem of the ownership of copyrigh...

[Just in] " I Proudly Doff My Hat for NBA Uyo Branch" Meti Ukpeh Sends Gratitude As He Bows Out As YLF Chairman, 2023 - 2025 Noblest Learned Seniors and colleagues, May I unreservedly pour encomiums on NBA Uyo Branch, who found me worthy to bestow the task of managing the most delicate and sensitive spectrum of our legal profession, the young lawyers. I will not hesitate to ooze out my gratitude to Augustine Enefiok Udoh, NBA Uyo Branch Chairman (as he then was), for appointing me YLF Chairman, Ndifreke Aquaisua, Esq., Ballers Cooperative, friends and colleagues who were there for me and my Exco throughout my tenure as YLF Chairman. For this I am immensely grateful to God that I never abandoned their faith in me into the dungeons of financial impropriety, integrity imbalances, let alone professional scandal  I humbly doff my hat for Uyo Bar for standing by me during my tenure. It wasn't rossy, but with the grace of God, I still held my head high. Below are our modest cont...

" Guilty Conscience lingers: You failed morality/Integrity Test": RE: Trailblazer at the Bar: Eno-Obong Akpan, Ph. D., Speaks on NBA Uyo Branch Indeed, the epigram: "a guilty Conscience needs no accuser" is a truism. An attempt to salvage the remnant dignity of the former NBA Uyo Branch Electoral Committee Chairman, Eno-Obong Akpan, Esq., is obviously sympathetic, the last kick of a dead horse, and a failed attempt to take good conscience and sanity for a ride.  Below are the pertinent, irresistible and inevitable questions that should bugle and prick the minds of people with unfermented integrity: 1. Why did Mrs. Eno-Obong Akpan openly admitted in her affidavit evidence, at the Federal High Court, Uyo, that she made a mistake in Qualifying an Unqualified candidate in the office of her Secretary, Mr. Ubong Offiong? 2. Why did Mrs. Eno-Obong Akpan admit in her affidavit evidence that, if the court allowed it, she would add back those she unjustly disqualified to stan...
