[Just in] " I Proudly Doff My Hat for NBA Uyo Branch" Meti Ukpeh Sends Gratitude As He Bows Out As YLF Chairman, 2023 - 2025

Noblest Learned Seniors and colleagues,

May I unreservedly pour encomiums on NBA Uyo Branch, who found me worthy to bestow the task of managing the most delicate and sensitive spectrum of our legal profession, the young lawyers.

I will not hesitate to ooze out my gratitude to Augustine Enefiok Udoh, NBA Uyo Branch Chairman (as he then was), for appointing me YLF Chairman, Ndifreke Aquaisua, Esq., Ballers Cooperative, friends and colleagues who were there for me and my Exco throughout my tenure as YLF Chairman. For this I am immensely grateful to God that I never abandoned their faith in me into the dungeons of financial impropriety, integrity imbalances, let alone professional scandal 

I humbly doff my hat for Uyo Bar for standing by me during my tenure. It wasn't rossy, but with the grace of God, I still held my head high.

Below are our modest contributions (score card):

1. With prior fewer meetings, we were able to host Eighteen(18) YLF meetings during our tenure 
2. We (Uyo YLF) Pioneered Akwa Ibom Young Lawyers Congress that houses all the YLF Branches in Akwa Ibom State.
3. We hosted State YLF Conferences for 2years, with renowned speakers such as: Ntong F. Ntong (JCA), Afam Osigwe, SAN, C. Ikwazom, SAN, Francis Ekwere, Esq, Ini Ememobong, Esq., Sembenge Ekanem,Esq., Nsidibe Umoh,Esq., Akebong E. Esq. Dr. Promise Iwezor, Dr. Jude Ezeqwui, et al.
4. At least a Welfare package for a  bereaved member (N13,000)
5. Pro Bono services -- identification, investigation and collation of twenty(20) indigent inmates for onward representation.
6. Introduction of hybrid - Webinar trainings (six webinars) on diverse areas of law for young lawyers.
7. Launching Social Picnic & Law, co-sponsored by Osagie E. Esq., 2024.
8. Launching of Young Lawyers Sports & Games, including football competition between young lawyers and senior lawyers (Seniors won 4 - 2 by penalties)
9. Representing Young Lawyers at the Public Hearing of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, meeting Hon. Prince Ukpong Akpabio to drive home of our requests, including procurement of YLF Bus in 2024/2025.
10. Under AKYLAC, we supported the four(4) Branches of YLF for AGC, 2024 with a token of N30,000
11. We successfully canvassed, at the National YLF Chairmen Conference in Abuja, 2024 (Led by A.T. Aboki), for the integration of all the branches of YLF in all the strata of National YLF, hence the appointment of our sons and daughters.

To the new NBA Uyo YLF EXCO, leb by Emmanuel Udoyen, Esq., I sincerely have no doubt that you will keep the flag flying and YLF will continue to prosper in your hands with more successes and integrity.

On behalf of myself, my Exco and NBA Uyo YLF 2023 - 2025, we say: THANK YOU!

We might not have been the best; we could have chosen comfort and ease, but we never dared to mortgage our integrity--- a thing we proudly held and still hold dear, not just for YLF, NBA, ourselves, but for God who granted us the opportunity to serve.
